To gain the necessary skills for dog and handler team to achieve
operational standard for Passive drugs search dogs, as defined by
National Police Dog assessment model.

- How to operate dog to scan the environment around people for the scent of drugsControl of the dog on leash at all times
- Safe handling of drugs training aids
- Safe and practical application of procedures following a find
The Dog...
- Instant response to handlers commands both on and off leash.
- How to scan the environment around people and to passively indicate presence of drugs without making physical contact with the scent source.
- How to ignore reasonable distractions caused by noise, movement
and non target odours.
Course Content
Practical and theoretical development of all above criteria.
